The Paper Peacock is a New Zealand Scrapbooking business that was founded by Alison Bowman in 2000. Alison loved the hobby of Scrapbooking and was keen to see a larger variety of Scrapbooking products made available in New Zealand at affordable prices.
In early 2001 Scrap 'n Chat Workshops were launched in Wellington, side by side with our first website, the combination of these provided fun, social, and inspirational evenings for women in the Wellington area who wanted to spend time working on their albums as well as enabling our product range to be accessible throughout New Zealand.
By mid 2002 our small home business had quickly become a national business serviced by our website. With much excitement, November 2002 saw the opening of our first Scrapbooking Store in Woodend, North Canterbury and a relaunch of our newly designed website.
When Martin and I purchased the business in 2010 from Mary Groom & Gaye Minard the store has grown to be the largest scrapbooking shop in North Canterbury.
The Paper Peacock has grown to provide a comprehensive service throughout New Zealand and is delighted to be providing Scrapbooking supplies to scrappers in other areas of the world such as Australia, South Africa, UK, and Japan. We have our customers to thank for their continued support, our team to thank for their enthusiasm and dedicated effort, and our families who have supported us through the endless talk of Scrapbooking (all scrappers will know how their husbands eyes glaze over when the conversation extends to over 3 minutes!), late nights, and the boxes of products that always seem to be lining our walls.
